What's Inside

01
Severity and Escalation, Defined

P0 to P3 severity levels with real examples, from active ransomware to security tool tampering, plus mandatory escalation triggers and one rule for every gray area: when authority is unclear, stop and escalate.

02
A Step-by-Step Response Lifecycle

Nine phases from detection through closure, with checklists for each and a pre-authorized actions table so responders can isolate a host at 2 a.m. without waiting on approvals.

03
Communication That Runs on a Clock

Notification SLAs, update cadence by severity, a six-part status update format, and ready-to-send templates for declaration, status, and closure notices. Updates go out even when nothing has changed.

04
Compliance and Insurance Reporting in One Place

A 2026 reference covering SEC, HIPAA, CIRCIA, NYDFS, PCI DSS 4.0.1, GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and more, including where to report. Fill-in sections capture your own obligations and cyber insurance details before you need them.
